Conclusion/Reflection
I think that the author, William Golding, essentiall(a)y wants us to learn that everyone has viciousness within of them that, if given the situation, will undeniably arise no progeny how innocent or favorable to rules you are. William Golding uses many symbols and examples to fork up this. When the boys were setoff isolated in the island, they were clearly and evidently civil, even macrocosm excited by having rules. They obtained the conch which symbolized unity and civil manner because it is what brings all the boys together. In addition, they had Piggy and Simon, who both were highly rational people, hardly affected by their inner beast. However, as the story progressed, and the savageness started to overcome the boys, especially Jack and his group, these items and people were broken as a symbol of lost hope for unity and a structured civilization. For example, when Piggy died, the conch exploded into a thousand unclouded fragments and ceased to exist. When the conch was broken, the only true symbol for unity, Golding was clearly trying to show that humanity was lost, and the boys had become animals.
